Chock Full o' Fun

Before we get to the cartoon, I would like y'all to watch something my dad found while he was goofing off around Youtube.  It's a powerful message from a former solider to Senator Obama.  If you don't get a lump in your throat after watching this, you may want to check your patriotism.
Dear Mr. Obama

Alrighty then, now I know the whole Bristol Palin pregnancy is old hat but I wanted to do a cartoon about it anyway.  I wanted to capture the arrogance of Obama in this cartoon while at the same time making a subtle hint at that barbaric policy of killing a baby after a botched abortion that he supports. I know people are gonna get smeared during a campagin but could we please leave the kids out of it?  Nobody has gone after Obama's girls have they?  Bristol Palin made a mistake but her and her boyfriend are going to make it right, I mean what do you expect her parents to do, shun her?  Leave them out of it!   I still like Gov. Palin a lot more than I like Sen. Biden but the whole Troopergate thing raises a few eyebrows.  She's gonna be on Hannity and Colmes and I'm torn between watching that and Fringe, but I'm not missing the season premiere of House for anything!

Obama and Bristol Palin
Speaking of Sean Hannity, he stated a few weeks ago that journalism was officialy dead, and I'm inclined to agree with him.  Objective journalism died off years ago, and Tim Russert was the last one of the objective mainstream journalists in my opinion.  With the advent of the Obamessiah the media has been throwing softballs and fawning over this guy like crazy that there's practically no need to watch or read the news for objective information anymore.  It's really quite sad actually.
Speaking of which, I recently hopped of the print media band wagon because A) there's not a living wage in it anymore and B) with the advent of the Internet, newspapers are going the way of the dinosaur.  I hate to give up on something I spent four years worth of college studying for but I've found another job that pays a living wage and I still have my blog. :)  So my journalist endevors shall continue.  Unlike objective journalism.
So to "commemerate" the fallen institution I have selected my favorite song from one of my favorite bands My Chemical Romance, "Dead!"  I have to tell you right now that I freakin' love this song!  If I ever get a chance to be on American Idol, this is the song I will sing.
I have to warn you that it does have a bit of a tounge and cheek language issue so I'm only going to post the link to it here.  If you're in the mood to rock go ahead.
My Chemical Romance: Dead!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8b_h38md4E
That song also reminds me of Death Note and while we're on the subject here's Episode 12 Love.  You wanted romance Scarlet or Redhead, you got it, cuz now the series introduces Misa, the most annoying character in the series in my opinion.  Please feel free to fast forward through the annoying opening theme song, I do.
Death Note belongs to Tsugumi Ohba (the writer), Takeshi Obata (the artist) and VIZ Media (the American company that brought it to the States).

Olympic and Political Fever!

OK OK, I know the Olympics are over but this is what my cartoon pertains to.  How many of y'all watched them?  I caught some of the action, my dad mostly watched the shooting sports and I watched some of the swimming and gymnastics.  (Yay Michael Phelps! <3)  But seriously how many of y'all believed that those Chinese gymnasts were 16?  They looked like there were seven or nine!  What's worse is that as soon as they games were over, they went back to work in a factory or rice patty and didn't get to keep their medals. *sigh*
But I decided to find some humor in all of this so here's my take on the Chinese gymnasts.

Olympics '08
I have to say right now that this one didn't turn out as well as it looked in my head, but most of my cartoons never do.

So remember when I asked y'all to vote on what y'all thought McCain'r REAL campaign theme song should be, well the votes are (no recounts) and Virginia Daddy's pick of "O Do Not Forsake Me" by They Might be Giants is the winner!  Unfortunatly I couldn't find a decent video of it on Youtube so you'll just have to ask VADaddy for the words.

So I am now STOKED about McCain's pick for Veep.  He actually found someone more right leaning, was from Alaska, pro-life, pro-second amendment and she's a woman!  (Take that Hillary!)  So things are looking up with Sarah Palin riding shotgun, she could be best described as kawaii (cute) while Biden could best be described as kowaii (scary.  And there's your Japanese language lesson for today.) And even though this was pretty predictable, after the announcement the media and liberal cartoonists pounced on her and called her inexperienced (as opposed to what?) faster than Light Yagami could write down a criminal's name in his Death Note.

Speaking of Yagami-kun, you asked for more so I will be posting more episodes of Death Note for your pleasure.  But here's something you need to know: anime goes in sequential order most of the time, you have to watch each episode in order or else you're going to be totally lost.  I have all of them posted on my blog but if you're too lazy and want a synopsis I will gladly give you one.  So please enjoy episode 11, Assault, (no battery thought).  BTW, sorry it's taken so long to get back, I've been wrapped up in the Olympics and have been working like a dog at the paper.
Death Note belongs to Tsugumi Ohba, Takeshi Obata and VIZ Media.

All About McCain!

Just like the title says, this post is all about McCain!
I'd like to begin with a cartoon that centers around the speculation over McCain's runningmate and takes a rather cheap shot at the Arizona senator's age.  I felt kinda bad drawing this but, if it's true it can't really be wrong can it?  The truth is, McCain is going to be 72 year old.  He's not getting younger.   He needs to pick someone who is physically able to take over in case he ever is called to appear on a Sunday show with Tim Russert and Tony Snow before his first term is up.  And I was all for Bobby Jindal at first (Jindal is da man!) but I would be happy with Romney or Thompson.  At the very least pick someone who is more right leaning than you are for crying out loud!  I may just vote for McCain because he picks Romney, which is a dumb reason but still...

I still have mixed feelings about McCain.  While he's not very conservative at all, he's still a lot more right of center than Obama is, and he's actually shed blood for this country, something Obama's never done.  I don't know, I just don't know...

Anyway, it's time to pick a REAL Campaign Theme Song for McCain!  I saw a song by Johnny Cash titled "The Man on the Right is on the Left" that I thought would fit, but then I got to thinking, why not let my loyal watchers pick?
So for the first time ever on Keys to the Right, you get to vote on what McCain's REAL Campagin Theme Song should be!  Just leave a comment about what it should be and I'll pick the best one or whichever one gets the most votes!

And as promised, Death Note is back!  Is anybody really watching this?  That's another thing I want y'all to vote on.  Let me know if you want me to contiunue posting Death Note or not because if nobody's watching it seems kinda pointless.  I'd hate to kill it off but when the people speak...So until then I leave y'all with Episode 10, Doubt.  Murder, intrigue and...a tennis match?
Death Note belongs to Tsugumi Ohba, Takeshi Obata and VIZ Media.

Shock, Disgust and Obama's REAL Campaign Theme Song

I'm not sure how many of y'all have heard this but one of my college friends told me that Fred Phelps and his infamous gang at Westboro Baptist Church will be headed to Washington tomorrow (7/17/08) to protest at Tony Snow's funeral.  I don't know about any of y'all but if I didn't have to work that day I would hop on the back of a Patriot Guard rider's bike headed to D.C. and get in between those pukes and the church!  Maybe God will strike Phelps and his crew with lightning or something, and Tony would laugh about it.
In other news, I fished out this cartoon I drew for my dad as a Father's Day present and thought y'all might like to see it.  I got the idea for it after hearing about all these dumb kids at Berkley protesting the Marine Corp recruiting office that was there.  Are these kids so thick as to not realize where their freedom to protest comes from.  They should be thanking these Marines (and every other branch of the military for that matter).  Plus I drew a Marine because my dad's an old jarhead and the Corp has always been pretty close to our family's heart.
As far as Obama's campaign theme song goes, I thought a little Johnny Rivers would be fitting.  A little bird told me some time ago that this particular song was featured in "Jesus Christ Superstar," and I thought it was appropriate the the Obamaina that's been going on.  While this video isn't nearly as interesting as the Meredith Brooks song I picked out for Hillary (you know which one), it's still pretty funny.
And there won't be any Death Note this time around, this post is long enough already but don't fear, Light, L, Ryuk and the rest of the crew will return next time!

The Return of K to the R and the Passing of Tony Snow

Hello again folks!
After a brief hiatus it is great to be back on Townhall!
Well, I'm back sooner that I thought thanks to a little thing called "password update" and I am ready to start blogging away!
So y'all have probably been wondering what I've been up to lately.  Well...after graduation I had a brief stint in the broadcast journalism field.  I was a producer for a local TV station's morning shows, which meant I decided what did and didn't get on the air.  However, I was working the night shift (10pm-7am), the people were kinda mean and I was just too high strung for the job so after three weeks I quit and got a job working as a reporter, photographer and gopher for a small local newspaper.  I love what I do now.
It's good to be editorial cartooning again.  However I wish I could be drawing about a lighter subject matter.  I was really sad to hear that Tony Snow passed away yesterday morning.  FOX News, the world of journalism, the White House and the world itself has lost a great man.  But we can know that Tony fought this cancer to the end and now the only thing he misses now in Heaven is owning idiot reporters with his sharp wit.  So here's a cartoon to commemorate him.  You will be missed Tony, R.I.P.

Tony Snow Memorial
And of course I will be posting episodes of Death Note for those who want to see them.  [Death Note belongs to Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata and VIZ Media]  so here's episode 9 Encounter.  It's L vs Kira round 2!

For Now, This is My Last Post...

OK folks, as I said before, I'm about to box my computer, graduate and go on a bit of a hiatus.  So, until I can find a place of my own and pay for Internte access, this will be my last post.  But as General MacArthur said, "I shall return."  I promise, as soon as the aformentioned things happen I will be back here blogging.  Until then I will be in the wilderness with the rest of the conservatives and preparing for the next phase of my life.  Have a great summer, and fall quite possibly, y'all!
So now I leave y'all with episode 8 of Death Note, which belongs to VIZ Media.  Speaking of which, on May 20-21 certian theaters in the U.S. will be showing a live action version of Death Note.  So if you're interested or just bored, you might want to check it out.  It follows the anime pretty closely.  And feel free to follow the rest of the anime on your own, it should all be up on YouTube and Cartoon Network's [adult swim] will air episode 29 this Saturday, so those interested have a lot of catching up to do.
So until next time guys, keep fighting the good fight and congratulations to the entire Class of 2008!

A New Block of Voters and the Dixie Chicks

Did anybody catch FOX News around 1pm today?  Because E.D. Hill was talking about this "new" block of voters that is pivitol for Hillary and Obama to pick up called the "peeved primary voters."  While I was watching her and some former advisor to John Edwards talk about this I started to wonder, "Is this the same thing as those bitter voters in PA that Obama was talking about?"  Probably but I guess you could call most of us at TH "peeved."  Peeved about how this election is going, peeved about McCain, peeved about Wright and just peeved in general.  I guess we better start clutching our Bibles and guns to make us feel better huh?  What do y'all think?  Is this an actual voting block or something someone made up to fill air time on the news?
Does anybody here watch MAD TV?  I catch it on occassion and it's pretty good most of the time.  They did a parody some time back of the Dixie Chicks hit "Not Ready to Make Nice" and it's pretty darn accurate to what was said in the actual song.  And of course I'll be posting Death Note episode 7 Overcast.  Partly cloudy with a chance of murder!  And once again, MAD TV belongs to the FOX Network and Death Note belongs to VIZ Media.

New Election '08 Cartoon!

You're probably sick by now of all the Rev. Wright reports, interviews, ect.  Well let me put your Tums to good use and present to you a cartoon on this very subject!  This one features all three presidential candidates!  I'm not the best at drawing Hillary and it's been a long time since I've drawn ol' Slick Willie but I did the best I could.  I'm no Michael Ramirez yet.  Congrats on the Pulitzer by the way Mr. Ramirez.
Anyway, y'all seemed like y'all wanted to see another cartoon so, I delivered.  I also am delivering you more Death Note.  In episode 6 the police meet with the famous detective L, my favorite character in the whole series, face to face.  Enjoy both!
Note: Death Note belongs to VIZ Media and the cartoon belongs to me.

Now a Little Something for the Lawyers!

As Skep pointed out to me in my last post, I may have some rights issues with some of the videos I post.  I am not trying to make a profit or anything like that with these videos I post, I'm simply trying to share something I enjoy with the TH community and I don't think I can be faulted for that.
So, just so we're clear: I DO NOT own Death Note, Mystery Science Theater 3000, Meredith Brooks or any other YouTube video I post here!!! Death Note belongs to VIZ Media and MST3K belongs to Best Brains Inc.    I hope this clears me and keeps my account from getting deleated.  You don't wanna sue me I have no money!

And Now for Some Fun with Joel and the 'Bots! (MST3k)

OK, as many of you may or may not know, I'm trying to get as many posts in here as possible before I have to pack up my computer and go on my little hiatus.  So while you may not see any cartoons, you will see stuff that I hope makes you laugh and maybe think about a few things.
So just for grins and giggles I've posted one of my favorite Mystery Science Theater 3000 clips entitled "Here Comes the Circus."  Hope you enjoy.
I've also posted episode 5 of Death Note "Tactics" or as I like to call it "The Bullet Train Ride to H*ll."  Enjoy Sgt. Relic and everyone else!

Hillary's REAL Campaign theme song!

Does anybody remember that ad that the Clinton campaign ran at the beginning of the year where Hillary picked out a song from the jukebox to be her campaign theme? I don't remember what it was but I found a better one that is more fitting for her campaign and her as a person courtesy of Meredith Brooks.
I'm going to post the link here because I'm afraid that I might get in trouble with TH if I posted it directly here.  The song has a bit of a language issue but it's so true to who Hillary is.  Please enjoy!

I don't have a cartoon up but I do have the fourth episode of Death NotePlease enjoy the exciting conclusion to Death Note's version of Deal or No Deal!

NUMBER ONE!!!

So I checked ksky.com last night and my blog is the number one TH blog in the state of Texas!  W00T!  That's pretty cool!  Guess I need to post more often.  Speaking of that, due to unforseen circumstances my computer will have to be boxed up sooner than I expected so I will be spending the remaining days before graduation blogging as much as I can.  This means some of my posts will be nothing but Death Note episodes so I hope that's OK with y'all, because the next time I do post it may be months and months from now, probably longer than any of my previous absences.  I just want to get as much stuff in as possible before my hiatus begins and I don't want to leave y'all hanging with this series.
Today's cartoon is one that I came up with about a month ago.  To me it sums up this year's election pretty well.  And sorry Redhead, I think I'm gonna stick with Colbert.  Lil' Spike in the corner is in her regalia becasue I'll be graduating college in a few days.  It feels weird and exciting all at the same time.  The past four years of my life have been college and now, it just feels weird.  Plus I'll be leaving all the friends I made and that's a bummer, but I'm ready for the next chapter!   And of course, here's the third episode of Death Note.  Sgt. Relic may be the only person watching this but I'm still going to post it.  If you want to catch up, episode one is in the posts "I'm Back" and "A Quick 'Note'."  Enjoy the madness as Light continues to take names!

Here's the Cartoon! (And more "Death Note"!)

Thanks again Mr. Regal and Sgt. Relic for your help with getting my cartoons up, so (cue cheesy beauty pagent singer) Here it is!!!!!
I'm not sure how many of y'all heard the news item a few weeks ago about Hamas throwing it's weight behind Barak Obama, but here's hoping it sinks any chance of him becoming president.  I'm getting pretty sick of people treating Obama like the messiah.  And I don't care what that dupe Jimmy Carter says, Hamas is a terrorist group, plain and simple, and Carter's behavior this past week was disgraceful!
Sgt. Relic, I'm glad you like the first episode of Death Note.  So I'm posting the second one just for you!  (And for everyone else who is interested.)  Looks like I got another fan huh?  Anyway, y'all can check it out if y'all are interested.  This time I was able to find both parts in English.  And I will try and be back with more cartoons before I box my computer up.

I was unable to find a part 2 of "Death Note" in English so I'm putting a Japanese version with English Subtitles in here.  I'm also posting part 3 in here as well so it's convenient for y'all.
Let me know what you think.

I'm Back! And need help posting my cartoon!

Hey Guys!
I know that it's been awhile and I apologize but I finally found some free time to come back and start blogging again.  And let me tell you, I've missed it!
I figured since quitting my job and only taking 12 hours would've given me more time to blog, not so.  Classes have kept me busy along with searching for a post-college job, obligations to friends, packing up and other things.  Speaking of college, graduation is just around the corner and I'm excited but sad and a little freaked out.  I'm sad b/c all I've know for the past four years is here in my college town and freaked out b/c I have no idea what to expect!  But I've prayed about this alot and I know God won't let me down (unlike the Career Services department here.)
So I have been able to keep up with the events happening in our world, however, this new layout has me so confused I don't know how to take my cartoons from Photobucket and put them in to this blog.  Can anyone help?  B/c I don't want to disappoint my fans!
Onthe presidential election front, I have deciede who I am voting for (and you might want to be sitting down when I tell you this), my candidate is: Stephen Colbert.  You're probably asking, "Who?" so I will divulge those of you who are curious.  Stephen Colbert is the host of the Comedy Central show "The Colbert Report," which is like the anti-"O'Reilly Factor."  I'm voting for Colbert out of protest for the Republican party's shameless selection of a liberal hack like John McCain.  If I can't have a real conservative, I may as well vote for a candidate who's not even on the ballot.  Plus, Colbert is a heck of a lot funnier than Jon Stewart.
Did anybody else see the "O'Reilly Factor" report about GE and Coca-Cola doing business with Iran?  Well that report prompted me to stop doing business with both companies. So with the exception of my beloved Dublin Dr. Pepper, I've switched to drinking Jones Soda instead.  If y'all haven't tried it you really should.  Their cream soda is four notches above IBC, the strawberry lime soda has a nice bite to it, the berry lemonade is pretty good and the fufu berry is nectar from Heaven I kid you not!
I'd like to share something with you all, though you may not be interested I though I'd post the link here just the same.  I've recently become a fan of a show called "Death Note," which qualifies under the genre of anime (Japanese animation).  (OK it's out, I'm a nerd!)  Animation may not be y'all's cup of tea but this series presents some interesting thought on vigilante justice and how power corrupts a person.  Youtube likes to split their anime shows into three parts so I'll only be posting the first part of the first episode, the other two should be pretty easy to find, and if you like it you've got a lot of catching up to do.  [adult swim] is already on the 27th episode.  So until I can figure out how to post my cartoons, please enjoy "Death Note."
Which brings me to a final warning.  I will soon be heading into finals, graduation and moving so my computer may be shortly boxed up and I may not be able to post again until I can find a place of my own and afford an Internet connection.  I will try to post more be for then but this may be it for now, but I will be back as I close one chapter of my life and begin another.
