Old Maddona Cartoon and Doug Marlette

Here's another special request cartoon, I know it's old but my mom thought it was really funny.  This one is about Maddona's adoption of an African child this past fall.  It also ran in my campus paper and even garnered a critical letter from the editor.  The student that wrote the letter accused me of not looking at Maddona's side of the story.  (Like you can take anything Maddona does or says seriously.) I don't have a problem with people adopting kids from foriegn countries, what bothers me is when people do it like it's the latest fashion trend or like they're trying to earn extra brownie points with the Man Upstairs.  Last I checked it didn't work that way.  To me it seemed like that's what Maddona was trying to do.

On a sad note, I just read on cagle.com that Tulsa, OK cartoonist Doug Marelette was killed in a car accident on July 10.  I didn't always agree with the opinions in his cartoons but I always liked his style.  He will be missed.  Mr. Marlette, say hello to Johnny Hart for us, ok?

McCain's Campaign (cartoon)

I'm probably gonna get in trouble for making a reference to McCain's crash behind enemy lines but hey...
While I like this cartoon the way it is it seems like it's missing something, but what?...
We all knew this amnesty bill would sink his campaign, what gets me is that he didn't.  I better not hear him whine when he drops out of the race cuz he should've seen this coming.  On the plus side this gives Duncan Hunter an opportunity to pull forward.
Go Hunter!

Obama vs. Hillary (cartoon)

This was a special request from my mother that I post this one.  It was also featured in a November issue of my campus paper.  I felt like it deserved an award but the Texas Intercollegiate Press Assoc. thought otherwise.  I got an award, just not for the one I wanted.
I just love it here! It's fun to read and comment on other people's posts and it's nice to talk to like-minded people.  I've been debating back and forth on Facebook with a friend who has some very Ron Paul like views on Iraq.  I stopped posting back because he basically won with all the research he did.  (I still can't figure out when he found the time to do it.) He gave me some things to think about but he hasn't changed my position (hee hee).

Edwards vs. Terrorism (cartoon)

Now for something a little more current.  This one was drawn around the time Ann Coulter and Elizabeth Edwards got into their little tiff.  Coulter-sensei pwned as usual.  (sensei is Japanese for teacher if you didn't know.)  It's amazing how blind people really are to the danger we face today, it's like they don't want to see the threat because it either threatens their worldview or it just scares them.

Speaking of Ann Coulter, I just read her new column and she is once again so right.  Kudos!

And I appreciate all the feedback I've been getting from Jimmy Carter, Brian K and myVoice.  Keep 'em coming!

Jimmy Carter is the Worst (Cartoon)

Ok, I realize that this is old news but you gotta admit that poking fun at Jimmy Carter never gets old.  I did this one back in May when I had some time away from school.  I wish I had some more time like that now...*sigh*
And I'm sure a lot of y'all are already doing this but please continue to pray for Tony Snow.  I saw him yesterday on Fox News and he looks really tired and his hair is really starting to get thinner.  Just keep him and his family in y'all's prayers 'kay?

One Person Recipes Wanted

As a college student, it's sometimes difficult to eat right, especially if you're living alone and all the recipies you already have are for four or more people.  So if any of y'all out there have recipies for dinners that feed one person, please let me know because the ramen and fishstick thing is getting old.

Stay tuned for more cartoons, oh and how do I log out of here?

Last thing, kudos to Cox & Forkum's "Live Earth" cartoon today, loved it!

Harry Reid on Iraq

Ok, I realize that this is old news but I still think it's an important cartoon to display.  I actually drew this one as a Mother's Day gift for my mom, she's got it hanging in her bedroom.
And just to give y'all a heads up, some of the cartoons I will be posting later on will be "old news," but I'm going to post them anyway because I frankly don't have time to draw new stuff all the time.  (But I will try.)

Second Shot

Ok, I found the URL to Facebook where the cartoon is posted.  If you can't get to there or see it, I don't know.

Tech Support Please!

Ok, I tried to post my first cartoon here but it never loaded.  All I got was that "image didn't load thing" with all the shapes on my last post.  So, can anyone help me.  All my cartoons are saved under "C documents and settings" and it looks like I'm only able to upload URL images.  (I tried taking the cartoon from my facebook account but it wouldn't work.)  So if any of y'all have any advice please let me know, I really want to post these cartoons!  :(

A High School Cartoon about NIck Burg

I hope you can see this, I don't think Townhall is going to let me copy and paste stuff from my scans onto this website, but here's hoping.  As the title says, this was a cartoon I did back in high school about the murder of Nick Burg.  I also submitted this cartoon to a publications that publishes works by students at my college but they didn't take it.  Either because they don't take cartoons or they just didn't like it.  Oh well.  I know this one is quite graphic but it sends an important message nonetheless.

P.S. To all the current cartoonist on Townhall, I'm not trying to steal your thunder or anything like that, I'm just trying to get my work out.  (Assuming you can see this.)

Welcome to "Keys to the Right"

Hey y'all, hi, how ya doin', konichiwa, whatever greeting you prefer.

My name is Keys and I'm so excited to be blogging here at Townhall.com.  The main reason I'm here is to post some of my original editorial cartoons (which have the same title as this blog) here for your enjoyment or disgust.  Yes, like it says in my bio I want to one day be the Ann Coulter of editorial cartoonists.  I realize I have a long way to go and that I'm no Herbert Block, but hopefully with this site someone will see my work and...well who knows?

I used to be a writer/editorial cartoonist for my campus paper, but after three years, a few bad grades, one failed sorority pledge, many long weekend, one liberal editor, one 2nd place and two honorable mentions from the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association later, I decided to quit.  (Mostly because I needed to get my grades up.)  I started posting my cartoons on my Facebook page but they didn't get the attention I wanted them to get, so here's hoping this changes that.

I can't wait to get to know all of y'all and hear what you have to say.  I'm still in school and holding down an 8-5 job so I'll probably only be able to post cartoons when I have some spare time.

So, I guess that's it.  More to come so just keep your eyes open!

Bye for now,
Keys

P.S. Is there something special you have to do to post stuff that's on your computer?
